DC Gets Past Goshen for Non-Conference Victory

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s tennis team picked up its second-straight win and third in its last four matches with a 5-4 victory at Goshen College on Tuesday afternoon. Austin Kleman paved the way with wins at No. 2 singles and doubles.

Kleman teamed with Joe Caig to take an 8-6 win over Goshen’s No. 2 tandem of Chanuk Algama and Beakal Girma. Defiance also earned the point at No. 3 doubles due to a forfeit.

The Yellow Jackets then pulled out the 5-4 team victory by splitting the six singles competitions. Kleman handled Alex Dominquez in straight sets at No. 2 singles, while Adam Fausey and Steve McQuade also notched wins.

Defiance (7-12) will get back into HCAC play on Thursday when it hosts Manchester at 4:00 pm.
