Play halted in HCAC Men’s Tennis Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Play has been postponed for the day at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis tournament. All remaining matches will be resumed tomorrow.
Defiance College’s Stefan Faerber will take on Jody Mitchell of Transyvania University in the #1 singles finals. Faerber made it to the finals after defeating Cameron Scott of Anderson University 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the opening round and Gabe Caldwell of Hanover College 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals. Tyler Ault is still undefeated in conference play #6 singles, reaching the semifinals against James Hike of Manchester.
Tim Kurtz will be playing for fourth place in #2 singles against Daniel Rodriguez of Manchester College. Kurtz fell in the first round against Robbie Hughes of Franklin College 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-2. Adam Fausey will take on Craig Stuler of Franklin College for third place in #3 singles, Fausey lost to Doug Anewalt of Hanover College 6-2, 6-1 in the semis. Jared Sponseller takes on Bill Martin of Bluffton University for third place, after getting beat by Brad Lowe of Franklin College 6-4, 6-2. Karl Eustache plays for fourth place against Ben Ahlbrand of Franklin College after falling to Aaron Dicken of Anderson 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.
No doubles matches have been played yet. Faerber and Fausey take on Mitchell and Matt Clayton of Transylvania in #1 doubles. Kurtz and Ault play Andrew Hall and Tom Bowman of Mount St. Joseph, and Sponseller and Meyer go up against Isaish Schloneger and Colin Yoder of Bluffton.
