--Defiance, Ohio—Defiance College’s Stephan Faerber has been named a member of the 2004 All-Heartland Conference Team for Men’s Tennis.
Faerber, a sophomore from Avon Lake, Ohio, earned the award for his play at #1 singles for this year’s 7-13 Yellow Jacket squad. He went 4-5 in HCAC contests, while accumulating a 8-14 overall mark.
At last weekend’s HCAC Tournament in Indianapolis, the Avon Lake graduate finished third in the #1 singles competition after defeating Ben Felix of Manchester and Jeremy Hughes of Hanover.
At #1 doubles, with teammate Ryan Call, Faerber helped the pair to a 9-13 record overall.
The Jackets’ 7-13 overall and 2-4 conference record are both the best in the program’s history.
