DC Men’s Tennis falls in HCAC Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Defiance College Men’s Tennis team had its season come to an end at the hands of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology by the score 5-2.

DC got wins from Tyler Ault and Cody Nash in singles play. Ault took the #2 singles match 6-3, 6-3 against Daniel LaPlante, while Nash won 6-1, 6-2 in #4 singles against Scott Grubbs.

Tim Kurtz and Ashton Converse put up a valiant effort against LaPlante and Steven Shepson, but could not pull out the victory, as the duo lost the #3 doubles match 8-6.

Converse and Mike Mack did not finish their singles matches as Rose-Hulman won the fifth and deciding contest before the conclusion of their respective matches. Mack and Nate Schwarzbek were able to compete in #3 doubles against Grubbs and Peter Wenzel, yet lost by the score 8-3.

Defiance finishes the season 4-13 overall and 3-4 in the HCAC.
