Jackets earn record third HCAC win over Manchester

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Defiance College Men’s Tennis team won its third conference match of the season, the most since joining the HCAC, with a 6-3 win over Manchester College at the Dix Tennis Facility on Monday afternoon.

Jared Sponseller moved to 7-3 at 3rd singles with a 6-0. 6-2 win over Bryan Frantz and 7-1 at 3rd doubles, while partnering with Jeff Meyer for a 8-0 win over Josh Sollenberger and Blake Hike. Wes Auld earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at 6th singles over Hike, improving to 8-3 at that spot, while Stefan Faerber and Nathan Butler got their seventh straight win at #1 doubles with a 8-4 win over Ben Felix and Daniel Rodriguez.

The Jackets are now 7-10 this spring and will next host Anderson today (April 12th) at 4:30 before traveling to the HCAC Championships in Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday.
