Yellow Jacket Tennis splits a pair of HCAC contests

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Men’s Tennis team goes 1-1 in two HCAC matches Saturday afternoon, beating Manchester College 9-0 and falling to Hanover College 5-4.

On the day, Stefan Faerber was the only Yellow Jacket to win every match against both teams, going 4-0 on the day. In doubles play, he and Adam Fausey defeated Daniel Rodriguez and Ben Felix of Manchester 8-5 and Gabe Caldwell and John Lopresti of Hanover 8-0. In singles play, Faerber coasted against Manchester’s Felix and Hanover’s Caldwell by the scores 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively.

Tyler Ault remained undefeated in #6 singles play, edging out Manchester’s Blake Hite 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 and Hanover’s Ryan Shepard by the score 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

The Yellow Jackets, now 8-11 (3-2 HCAC) on the year, host Tiffin University Monday at 4:00 p.m.
