Men's Tennis picks up a conference win in three matches
Nick Williams, Assistant SID

DEFIANCE, Ohio - With weather forcing the Defiance College Men's Tennis team to reschedule a large amount of its matches this season, the team played three makeup conference contests this past weekend. DC gained a win against Mount St. Joseph Friday by the score 9-0 before falling to Franklin College 8-1 that same day and 9-0 to Transylvania on Saturday.

DC's win against Mount St. Joseph was its first clean sweep of any opponent this season. Aaron Cottos picked up his first conference win of the season in #6 singles by defeating Timothy Moody 6-1, 6-0. Mike Mack also won his first conference #5 singles match of the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Travis Huffman.

Despite DC's two losses this past weekend, the Jackets still remain in fifth place in the HCAC and have a chance to finish the conference regular season at .500 as the team still has one more HCAC contest to play.

Defiance (4-11, 3-4 HCAC) will host Anderson University Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in its last home match of the season.
