Yellow Jacket Tennis bounces back with win
Nick Williams, Assistant SID

DEFIANCE, Ohio- After having its four-match win streak snapped over the weekend, the Defiance College Men’s Tennis team comes back with a 7-2 win over Tri-State University Tuesday afternoon.

The singles matches were played as pro sets, due to windy weather conditions, but it had little effect on the Jackets’ play, as DC won four of the six singles matches, including Tyler Ault, who won his sixth consecutive #6 singles match by the score 8-2 against Jeigh Krupp.

Jared Sponseller and Jeff Meyer racked up another #3 doubles win, taking out Krupp and Brandon Appleton 8-3. Meyer also picked up a win in #5 singles, beating Appleton 8-0. Sponseller won his #4 singles match against Matt Philhower, 8-1.

DC, now 7-10 overall (2-1 HCAC), hosts Tiffin University Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
