Defiance falls to Montclair State University

Fort Myers, FL-- The Defiance College softball team suffered a 4-1 defeat to Montclair St. University in the first game of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic.

Renee Steffen paced the Jackets at the plate with a single and a double. DC was only able to muster five total hits against Montclair, which improves to 3-0 on the season.

Brittany Sims was charged with the loss for Defiance, going all seven innings and allowing eleven hits. Sims struck out two and walked two during her seven innings of work.

Defiance College drops to 1-2 on the season and resumes play later in the day against Wooster College, also as part of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic.
