Jackets shut out Wooster

Fort Myers, FL-- Defiance College got back on the winning track on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 shutout victory over Wooster College.

The Jacket bats came alive as Alicia Allen and Renee Steffen each smacked three singles apiece. Justine Johnston belted a triple, and Kelsey Sugg came up with a triple for DC.

Johnston also pitched a gem for the Jackets (2-2), pitching all seven innings and only giving up five hits. Aside from the five-hit performance, Johnston also sat down nine Wooster batters with strikeouts en route to picking up the win. Wooster falls to 0-1 with the loss.

Defiance plays again on Monday at 9 a.m. against Drew University.
