Jackets shut out Drew University, 5-0

Fort Myers, FL-- The Defiance College softball team didn't do anything flashy against Drew University on Monday. They didn't need anything flashy, as seven different Jackets contributed base hits and Justine Johnston kept Drew at bay with a 3-hitter.

DC scored two runs in the top of the third inning, and then added one each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth frames as they cemented the victory.

Renee Steffen was the lone Jacket to drive in multiple runs, as she had two RBI on the day.

Johnston was outstanding on the mound as she allowed just three hits while striking out six and walking just two.

Defiance moves to 3-2 on the season.
