Defiance picks up third straight victory

Fort Myers, FL-- Positive trends continued for the Defiance College softball team on Monday afternoon. For the third straight game, the Jackets claimed a 5-0 win. In those last two wins, DC has relied upon solid pitching performances as Brittany Sims was the second Yellow Jacket of the day to hurl a 3-hitter en route to victory.

Kelsey Sugg provided the pop at the plate for DC, slugging a home run and knocking in four runs. DC had five hits as a team, as four other hitters added singles to the winning cause.

Sims was spectacular on the mound, going all seven innings and striking out six hitters. Sims walked just one.

DC improves to 4-2 on the season with the victory. Tuesday is an off-day for Defiance, as they return to action Wednesday.
