DC Softball named NFCA All-Academic Team

--Defiance, Ohio—The Defiance College softball team has been named an All-Academic Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (AFCA).

The 2004 Lady Jackets were honored for posting a team grade-point-average of 3.233, ranking them 36th in the nation. Drew University ranked first with an overall GPA of 3.604.

DC also shined on the field in ’04, winning the Heartland Conference and advancing to the NCAA Regionals.

This year’s Lady Jacket squad opens at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky on March 11th. The home opener is March 23rd against Manchester College.
