Seven Defiance College Softball players were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2005-06 academic year as NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. Student-athletes must have acquired a 3.5 GPA for the year to qualify for the individual honor. Those recognized are Sara Wlasiuk, Corynne Long, Renee Steffen, Justine Johnston, Robin Diers, Kayla Crager, and Alicia Allen. The team was also ranked #45 in the nation for Division III institutions for team GPA of 3.217.
