Defiance Split Two at Home

DEFIANCE, Ohio --- The Defiance College softball team split a pair of decisions in the double-header against visiting Adrian College, 5-3 and 11-0.

The Jackets, which are now 8-10 on the season, fell behind in the top of the third inning due to the Bulldogs four run inning but battled back in the bottom of the third to only trail by a run entering into the fourth. Adrian’s Lindsay Budny scored the final run of the game on a Pruess RBI in the top of the fifth.

Mandy Crank recorded the loss in 5.1 innings.

The Jackets came back with a vengeance in the second game needing only five innings to put the Bulldogs away. The Jackets built an 11 run advantage scoring five runs in the first inning, three in the second and three in the fourth. H

Robin Diers was responsible for the no-hit shutout.

The Jackets will travel to Manchester College for HCAC action on Thursday, April 7. First pitch will be thrown at 3:30 p.m.
