DC Softball ends regular season with two wins

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Defiance College Softball team ended the regular season on a winning note with two victories over Bluffton University by the scores 6-1 and 4-2.

In the first game, Kelsey Sugg put DC on the board first with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the first. Melanie Bushman added three more runs in the fifth with a three-run homer. Justine Johnston pitched seven innings giving up only one run on four hits.

In the second game, Renee Steffen gave the Jackets the lead in the bottom of the first with an RBI double. Sugg added two more runs in the third inning with a two-RBI single. Alicia Allen earned her seventh win of the year, giving up only two runs in seven innings.

DC takes part in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend. The Jackets play the first game of the tournament this Friday.
