New Concord, OH.—The Defiance College Softball team won its first round NCAA Tournament game Friday afternoon 7-4, over Pitt.-Bradford in New Concord, OH.

A variety of players swung the bat well to help propel them past Bradford. Right fielder Erica Franks went 2-4 with two rbi's, while Kelly and Kacy Vanderhorst had two hits each. DH Kelsey Sugg added a couple more hits and an rbi of her own.

On the mound, sophomore Alicia Allen pitched six innings to get the win. She gave up four runs, all earned, on 10 hits, and walked three. Mandy Crank came in to pitch the seventh and record the save, which was her second on the season.
