DC Softball in the community
DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Defiance College Softball team continued to live up to the school’s motto of “Be The Difference” after volunteering to help collect food donations for the town’s local food pantry.
The team split up into groups and went door-to-door throughout Defiance in order to obtain donations of food for the PATH Center of Defiance. The girls went out requesting contributions this past Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Sunday evening. By Monday morning, the girls had collected 1,160 items food stuffs for the pantry.
The PATH Center stands for Partnership Assistance to the Homeless and feeds approximately 50 people on a daily basis. Last year, the food pantry served nearly 18,000 meals last year.
Defiance College is an independent, liberal arts institution offering nearly 40 undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs in education and business.
