Jacket Softball Wins Back-to-Back Games Over Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind.--- The Defiance College softball team improved to 12-10 and is undefeated in HCAC play (4-0) after beating host Franklin, 9-1 and 6-2.

In the first game, Kelly VanderHorst was a perfect three-for-three from the plate scoring two runs while Chris Moreo scored one run and two RBI’s and Erica Franks was two-for-four scoring once.

Alicia Allen picked up the win in four innings with two strikeouts and Mandy Crank gave up one run on one hit in her one inning of relief.

In the second, Kelsey Sugg was valuable at bat bringing in one run and was three-for-four. Laurel Palk scored twice on three hits and Kalette Peters drove in one run one two hits.

Robind Diers saw six hits and two runs in her seven innings.

The Jackets will continue their Indiana tour when they visit Hanover Sunday, April 10 for a double header starting at noon.
