Two more wins for Jacket Softball

HANOVER, Ind.—The Yellow Jacket Softball team took two games at Hanover College on Sunday to move to 6-0 in the HCAC.

DC won the first game in extra-innings by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the 10th inning. Alicia Allen and Mandy Crank each saw time pitching to earn the Jacket win. Kacy VanderHorst went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Kelly VanderHorst drove in two RBI and hit two doubles in a 3-for-5 game at the plate.

Chris Moreo added two RBI and two runs in game one, while Kelsey Sugg went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Robin Diers got the win in the Jackets’ 2-0 game-two victory. The freshman went seventh six Ks, while allowing no runs on three hits. Allen and Laurel Palk each scored a run in the top of the seventh while Kelly VanderHorst and Allen each went 2-for-3.

The Yellow Jackets are now 14-10 overall and will next host Anderson University on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
