Kacy VanderHorst named HCAC Co-Player of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio-- Defiance College’s Kacy VanderHorst (Celina, Ohio/Celina) has been named Heartland Conference Co-Player of the Week after helping the Yellow Jackets grab two wins last week. The senior outfielder was 10-for-18 (.556) from the plate in six games. She notched eight RBI and scored four runs. VanderHorst homered three times in Defiance’s 9-1, 15-5 sweep of Heidelberg on Mar. 31. She is hitting .404 this season with 10 RBI.

The DC senior shared the award with Sarah Owens of Franklin College who also went 10-for-18 on the week.

Defiance is 7-9 overall and will open HCAC play on Thursday at Manchester College before traveling to Hanover on Saturday.
