Moreo named HCAC Player of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio-- Defiance College’s Chris Moreo has been named HCAC Softball Co-Player of the Week for her performance in the last four DC games.

Moreo (Delphos, Ohio/Delphos Jefferson) guided the Yellow Jackets to a 3-1 record last week. The senior shortstop was 6-for-11 (.545) in four games with five RBI and five runs scored. She had an on-base percentage of .615 and recorded 11 assists and seven putouts with a fielding percentage of 1.000.

Moreo was 2-for-5 (.400) in Defiance’s sweep of Anderson on Apr. 14 and 4-for-6 (.667) in the Yellow Jackets’ split with Mount St. Joseph on Apr. 16. She is hitting .391 this season with 25 RBI, 25 runs scored, and seven doubles.

Defiance is now 17-11 overall and 9-1 in the HCAC.
