Yellow Jackets fall to powerful Muskies

New Concord, OH.--The Defiance College Lady Yellow Jackets fell to top seed Muskingum College 4-0 in New Concord, OH on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Mandy Crank pitched six complete innings, giving up four runs, three of those earned, on seven hits, and recorded three strike outs, in the loss.

The Jackets just could not seem to muster a run. They fell behind with the Muskies scoring a run in each of the first two innings. They managed six hits, but couldn't put anyone across the plate. Muskingum then added two insurance runs in the sixth, to seal the victory.

Leading the way offensively for DC was Monica Sigurdson, who went 2-3, while Kelsey Sugg and Chris Moreo each went 1-2 at the plate.

Muskingum had four runs, on seven hits, with one error, while Defiance had no runs, on six hits, with one error.

Defiance plays the winner of Thomas More vs. Pitt.-Bradford at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in New Concord.
