DC’s Sugg named to Louisville Slugger All-Central Region Team

DEFIANCE, Ohio—Defiance College sophomore Kelsey Sugg (Archbold, Ohio- Wauseon) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2006 Louisville Slugger Division III All-Central Region third team.

Sugg, last year’s Heartland Conference ‘Freshman of the Year’, was named to All-Central Region Team after hitting .343 on the year with six home runs, 10 doubles and 34 RBI. As the team’s catcher, Sugg threw out 11 potential base stealers and fielded at a .990 clip.

The Wauseon High School grad has career totals of 62 RBI and 19 doubles, both already rank her in the DC top-10 after her first two seasons.

The Yellow Jackets set a school record with 29 wins in the 2006 season, ending 29-15 overall and 10-5 in the HCAC.
