ORLANDO, Fla. – The Defiance College Softball team ended its stint at the Rebel Spring Games with a 15-2 win against Suffolk University and a 6-0 loss to Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

The Yellow Jackets got significant offensive showings from Kelsey Sugg and Amanda Auzins. Sugg had two hits to go along with three runs scored and three RBIs, while Auzins had two hits with two RBIs and two runs scored. DC scored at least two runs in each inning including a four-spot in the second and third.

Unfortunately for the Jackets, the offensive explosion could not carry over to the second game, as DC was held to only four hits in the game. Defiance had a chance to bring some runs on the board when the team had runners at second and third with two outs. However, a groundout to the pitcher prematurely ended the potential rally.

The .500 record on the day brings DC's record at the 2007 Rebel Spring Games to 4-4. Thus far, all of Defiance's wins have come during this eight-game stretch.

Defiance's overall record now stands at 4-6, as the Yellow Jackets get ready to return home after their week in the Sunshine State. The next game scheduled for the team will be Monday, March 19 as DC will take on Albion College at 3:00 p.m.
