Nicely sets another school record

ADA, Ohio—While the Defiance College Track & Field squads were opening their 2006 season at Ohio Northern’s Indoor Friday Night Series Meet, the Jackets have already seen a school record fall.

Senior Eric Nicely set the school record in the indoor pole vault at 14’ 6”, finishing fifth among mostly Division II competition. Matt Fleig finished fifth in the 55-meter dash at 6.67, while Eric Swartz hit 6’2” in the high jump, good for third place.

The DC women saw Kristyn Tooley place eighth in the triple jump at 30’2 ¼”.

The Yellow Jackets will next travel to University of Findlay on Friday and Saturday.
