School Records established at UF Classic

FINDLAY, Ohio—The Defiance College Indoor Track & Field squads finished up the Findlay Indoor Classic on Saturday night in Findlay, Ohio, establishing two school records.

Eric Swartz and Julie Kern each established school records in the indoor pentathalon with 2840 and 1982 points, respectively. Eric Nicely won the second flight in the pole vault at 14’ 6”, while Matt Fosnaugh hit a personal-best of 13’ 6”. Amanda Zimmerman also established a new school mark in the 600-meter run at 1:51.12.

Matt Fleig finished second in his heat of the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.85 and ran the 200-meter in 23.81, while Stacey Hall finished the mile run in 5:53.12. Tom Habenicht finished the 1000-meter run in 2:45.88.

Nick Niehaus threw 32’ 3” in the shot put, just ahead of Ryan Gladieux at 31’ 9 ½”. Trevor Matuszak hit 44’ 8 ¼” in the weight throw.

The Jacket athletes will next run at Anderson University on Saturday, February 4.
