Leugers, Zarembski Lead DC to Team Win at Beaver Invite

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Mark Leugers won three separate events and Brad Zarembski turned in three top fives, including a first in the high jump as Defiance won the team title in Saturday’s Bluffton Beaver Invitational.

Leugers dominated the sprints, claiming the top finishes in the 100 and 200-meter runs before posting the top score in the long jump competition and taking second in the triple jump. Leugers’ time of 22.92 in the 200 also gave the freshman the fifth-best score in DC’s outdoor history.

Zarembski’s jump of 6’-6” in the high jump was the top individual score and gave him a top-five jump in school history. The Toledo, Ohio, native also took second in the long jump and third in the triple jump events.
