Tooley Wins Triple Jump at Dick Small Invitational

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Kristyn Tooley posted the top score in the triple jump, finished fifth in the long jump and teamed with three other Lady Jackets to finish third in the 4x100 relay as Defiance came away with a sixth-place showing in the 12-team event on the women’s side.

The 4x100 relay team of Tooley, Kristin Goldstein, Amanda Misencik and Aubry Schafer turned in the fifth-fastest time in DC history with a mark of 53:07, good for third place.

Tooley then went on to take a pair of individual top fives. The junior standout won the triple jump with a score of 9.80 meters and jumped 4.35 meters in the long jump for fifth place.

Defiance excelled in the field events once again, taking top-five performances in the shot put, discuss and hammer throw. Kimberly Taylor ended fourth in the shot

with a throw of 10.41 meters and seventh in the discuss. Jessica Lipstraw took fifth in the discuss and Samantha Higdon, Laura Derov and Amanda Tooley finished third, fourth and fifth in the hammer throw.

The Lady Jackets will be back in action next Saturday at Bluffton when they compete in the Beaver Invitational.
