NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Kristyn Tooley shattered the Defiance College school record in the triple jump and Brad Zarembski improved his national ranking with a career best in the high jump on Friday at the North Central Gregory Invitational. The meet was DC’s final before NCAA Nationals on May 24-26.

Kristyn Tooley outdistanced her previous best and the school record by over a full foot with a leap of 35-05.50 in the triple jump event. Tooley had previously tied the old record of 34-05.00 one week ago at the Toledo Open.

Brad Zarembski also turned in a career performance, upping his national ranking after clearing the bar at 6-08.25 in the high jump. The score was the third best in DC history and moved Zarembski up to eighth in the nation.

The Yellow Jackets will now await Sunday’s announcement of the national qualifiers. Zarembski, Trevor Matuszak and Eric Swartz remain in contention for an invite to the national meet in Oshkosh, Wisc.
