OSHKOSH, Wis. – Brad Zarembski cleared 6-08.00 in the high jump competition to finish fifth at the NCAA D-III National Championships on Friday evening. The top-five effort earned All-American honors for Zarembski as the talented freshman became the sixth All-American in the history of the Defiance College track and field program.

Zarembski’s top leap of 6-08.00 was tied with three others for the second-best mark at the national meet and was only one inch short of the 6-09.00 score recorded by the national champion Ted McMillan of Augustana. Despite tying with three others for the second-best mark, Zarembski officially finished fifth based on his number of successful attempts.

The Toledo, Ohio, native was one of two freshmen to reach the All-American level and was one of just three competitors below junior status to place among the top eight.

Prior to becoming an NCAA D-III All American, Zarembski also claimed the Heartland Conference championship in the high jump and earned All-HCAC as well as All-Ohio honors.
