GREENCASTLE, Ind.—The Defiance College Track & Field Team participated in its last meet before the NCAA Nationals, taking part in the DePauw Invitational.

Matt Fleig took first-place in the 55-meter dash while posting a career-best time, clocking in at 6.56. in the 55-meter dash. Fleig's previous besh was 6.60, which he set back in 2005. Alan Thompson also had a career-best distance in the triple jump. Thompson had a distance of 40' 2", good enough for fourth place. He also finished seventh in the long jump, clearing 18' 3".

In the women's events, Kristyn Tooley also had a career-best in the triple jump, going for 9.87 meters, finishing second in the event. Tooley's previous best was 9.53 meters, set on February 17 of this year at a meet at Ohio Northern University. Tooley also finished ninth in the long jump with a distance of 14' 7".

The Jacket runners next travel to Minnesota to take part in the NCAA Nationals, held on March 10.
