Stein and Zarembski Named HCAC's Top Field Athletes

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Holly Stein and Brad Zarembski have named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, March 24 after their performances at the Dick Small Invitational.

Stein won the woman’s field athlete honor after claiming titles in both the shot put and the discus last Friday at the Dick Small Invitational. Competing in the first outdoor meet of her collegiate career, she won the shot put with a toss of 34-01.50. Stein’s throw of 119-07.00 in the discus gave her the highest mark in the HCAC this season.

Zarembski, a 2007 Outdoor All-American in the high jump, also garnered two individual crowns at the Dick Small Invitational. The sophomore cleared 6-02.00 to win the high jump, before narrowly missing on his next three attempts at 6-07.00. The Toledo, Ohio native also won the triple jump with a leap of 38.05.50, helping DC’s men’s team claim the team title this weekend.

The track and field team will look to continue its success this weekend at the Beaver Invitational on March 29 at Bluffton University.
