DC Duo Earns Second HCAC Weekly Honor

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Holly Stein and Brad Zarembski each earned their second Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week honor of the year on Monday, April 7 after their performances at the Manchester Invitational.

Stein won the woman’s field athlete honor after claiming titles in the discus, the javelin and the shot put at the Manchester Invitational. She set personal-best marks in all three events. Stein’s winning throws in the discus (127-02.00) and the shot put (38-10.25) moved her to the top of the HCAC Outdoor performance list in both of those events. The freshman also won her first javelin title of the season with a throw of 87-09.00.

Zarembski cleared 6-07.00 to win the high jump at the Manchester Invitational. The mark provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the third time in his short career that he has provisionally qualified for a national meet. The Toledo, Ohio native also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 19-07.00. The 2008 All-Ohio Indoor champion in the long jump, Zarembski will look to improve on his third-place finish at last year’s All-Ohio Outdoor Championships.

The track and field team will travel to Ohio Wesleyan University to participate in the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships this weekend on April 12.
