DEFIANCE, Ohio – Senior Trevor Matuszak will represent Defiance College at the NCAA Indoor National meet on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Friday in the weight throw competition. This marks the third year in a row that a DC athlete has qualified for either the indoor or the outdoor national championship meet.
Matuszak enters the event with the seventh-best throw in the nation after breaking an All-Ohio Indoor Championship record with a toss of 58-11.25 in the weight throw on February 16. That mark also broke his own school record, while giving him the best throw this season in the HCAC by nearly nine feet. The Ottawa Lake, Mich. native is undefeated this season against Div. III opponents, having won the event in five of his seven meets.
Matuszak will face some stiff competition as five competitors have all thrown over 60 feet this season. The top-eight competitors will be named All-American
