Matuszak Named All-American

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The USTFCCCA announced its Division III Indoor All-American Teams on Sunday afternoon as senior Trevor Matuszak’s second-place finish in the weight throw helped him become Defiance College’s seventh track & field All-American. Defiance finished in an eight-way tie for 25th place with eight points in the meet.

The Ottawa Lake, Mich. native broke his own school-record by nearly four feet, throwing 62-02.25 on his second throw of the day to give him the lead after the first two throws. Noah Gauthier of Bates College would eventually take over that lead with a toss of 63-01.25 and claim the individual crown. Also earning All-American status were Zach Wilson of Monmouth College, Phil Prusinski of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Mike Burgstrom of the University of Roanoke, Jason Fisher of Central College and Nick McWilliams of Loras College.
