Matuszak Shatters Own School Record

Friday Night Series Meet #3 Men's Results

ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s track & field program was in action this weekend at the Friday Night Series Meet held at Ohio Northern University. The Jackets finished seventh in the meet with 39.5 points.

Trevor Matuszak won his third weight throw title of the season, shattering his own school record with a throw of 58-02.00. Several other Jackets found their way onto DC’s all-time performance list as well during the meet. Andrew Baker’s time of 1:01.44 in the 500m earned him a fifth place finish, while climbing to second on DC’s all-time list. Eddie Mason ran the sixth fastest 400m in school history, finishing fourth with a time of 52.52.

Austin Trivett had a pair of solid performances, running the 55m hurdles in 8.31 seconds and clearing 13-05.00 in the pole vault to move into fourth place all-time in both those events. Brad Zarembski garnered a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 6-04.00, while Ryan Perry ran a personal-best 6.60 in the 55m on his way to fifth place.

Defiance will return to action next Saturday, February 16, at the All-Ohio Championships in Ada, Ohio.
