Tom Wright Classic Combined Results
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio Defiance College opened up its indoor track & field season at the Tom Wright Classic this weekend with several record-setting performances.
2007 All-American Brad Zarembski picked up where he left off last season as his winning jump of 6-07.00 set a new school indoor record, while also clearing the NCAA Div. III provisional mark. Zarembski also picked up a first-place finish in the triple-jump with a leap of 41-04.25. Senior Trevor Matuszak also qualified provisionally in the opening meet of the season, finishing second in the weight throw with a DC indoor record toss of 55-03.00.
Freshman Ryan Perry started his collegiate career off with a bang, winning both the 60m and the 200m dash. Perry finished the 60m dash in a time of 7.14 seconds, while using a strong kick to complete the 200m dash in 23.80 seconds. Eric Swartz had a pair of second place finishes on the day, clearing 6-05.0 in the high jump and finishing the 60m hurdles in 9.31 seconds.
