Lady Jackets Grab Third-Place Finish at ONU Meet

Friday Night Series Meet #4 Results

ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s track and field team finished third at the Ohio Northern Friday Night Series Meet #4, recording 110 points during the meet.

The Jackets had three first-place finishes in the meet as Samantha Higdon, Amanda Zimmerman and the 4x400m relay team all won events. Higdon won the women’s weight throw with a toss of 46-11.50, while teammate Amanda Tooley was third in the event with a career-best toss of 45-09.25. Zimmerman edged teammate Courtney Lantz at the line to win the 800m in 2:38.38 as Lantz took second place with a time of 2:38.41.

Kristin Goldstein ran a personal-best 7.70 in the 55m dash, finishing second in the event. Kaitlin Switzer finished within two tenths of the school record in the 1,000m, crossing the lin e2:22.42 to earn a fourth-place finish.

The Jackets will once again travel to Ada, Ohio next Friday, February 29 to participate in the final Ohio Northern Friday Night Series Meet of the season.
