DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College volleyball program will host a pair of camps in July.

DC will host its Little Jacket Volleyball Camp on July 14 and 15 for girls entering grades 1-8. Cost for this camp will be $50.

Defiance will then host a High School Volleyball Camp on July 16-18 for girls entering grades 9-12. Cost for this three-day camp will be $200 for a resident or $150 for commuters.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College volleyball program will host a Varsity Summer Tournament on July 19. The camp has spots for up to 12 high school varsity teams that will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The format will feature pool play in the morning, followed by bracket play in the afternoon. Each team will play at least four matches, which will be officiated by DC coaches and players.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Danyel Lipps was named to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Second Team on Wednesday, after helping a young Yellow Jacket squad to a sixth-place finish and a berth in the conference tournament.

Lipps improved on a standout freshman season by setting career highs with 108 games played, 387 kills, 47 service aces and 403 digs during her sophomore campaign. HANOVER, Ind. – Defiance College saw its season come to a close on Saturday with a four-set loss to the third seeded Manchester Spartans in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

Manchester drew first blood by winning the opening set, 30-23, before DC bounced back to even things at one set apiece with a 30-27 victory in the second set. The Spartans took over from that point on, scoring 30-22 and 30-15 wins to take the match.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Danyel Lipps hammered down seven kills in the opening game and the Yellow Jackets never looked back, topping Indiana Tech’s junior varsity squad 30-21, 30-24, 30-26 for the Parent’s Day victory.

Lipps collected seven of DC’s 13 kills in the opening set and fueled a 14-4 Yellow Jacket spurt midway through the game to secure the victory.
