DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance piled up 13 service aces to highlight a quick 30-13, 30-23, 30-19 victory over the University of Findlay’s junior varsity squad on Tuesday night inside the Weaner Community Center.

Ashton Judis led the hot serving attack with four aces as seven different Yellow Jackets recorded at least one ace. Nicole Fresorger, Danyel Lipps and Brian Gendron each notched a pair of aces.

The contributions were well spread throughout the entire match, as eight DC players had at least two kills with none totaling higher than eight. Lipps led the Jackets with eight kills in just 16 swings for a .312 hitting percentage, while Gendron tacked on seven and Julie Brunsman, Lauren Aldridge and Fresorger each had six.

Kelsey Ferguson spread the ball around, assisting 34 of DC’s 42 kills in the match and also added 11 digs and two blocks to fill the stat sheet in the solid all-around performance.

Fresorger had six kills, seven digs, two blocks and two aces.

Defiance (6-18) will get back into HCAC competition this weekend, closing out its conference schedule with road matches at Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania. DC’s final home match is slated for November 1 against Indiana Tech at 7:00 pm.
