Defiance vs Hanover Box

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance fell for just the second time in conference action on Saturday, as a streaking Hanover team handed them a 30-27, 30-18, 30-21 loss. The match was the final home conference match for the Jackets and moved them to 3-2 in HCAC play.

A pair of freshmen led the way for Defiance as Heather Bradshaw led all players with 25 digs and Sara Porter turned in 13 kills and seven digs. Danyel Lipps picked up eight kills and 14 digs and Ashton Judis scooped up 12 digs.

Hanover (12-7, 3-1 HCAC) picked up its fourth-straight win behind Carley Meek’s 16-kill, 22-dig performance. Danielle Hazelbaker and Kristen Blood also reached double figures in kills for the Panthers.

Defiance (5-13, 3-2 HCAC) will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 13, when it plays Spring Arbor and Siena Heights in a pair of non-conference matches.
