DC Drops Road HCAC Match to Mount St. Joseph

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Defiance College began a weekend road trip by visiting The College of Mount St. Joseph and came away with a 30-25, 30-22, 30-22 loss to the host Lions. The match was the first of three over the weekend for the Jackets.

Lauren Aldridge led the way offensively by hitting .330 with seven kills, while Danyel Lipps also chipped in seven kills and paced the defense with a team-high 11 digs. Also helping out were Ashton Judis, Nicole Williams and Heather Bradshaw with eight digs each.

Nicole Fresorger carried over her strong play from the DC victory over Findlay by notching four kills and Sara Porter tacked on a pair of aces. Kelsey Ferguson ran the attack with 21 assists.

Defiance (6-19, 3-4 HCAC) will look to clinch a spot in the HCAC Tournament with a win at Transylvania on Saturday. The Jackets will also play Asbury on Saturday in a non-conference tilt.
