Volleyball Moves to 2-0 in HCAC with Road Victory

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Defiance College picked up its second-straight victory and moved to 2-0 in Heartland Conference competition by notching a four-set victory at Rose-Hulman on Saturday morning. The Lady Jackets dropped the opening set, 26-30, before getting on track and winning the next three, 30-14, 30-19 and 30-18.

Freshman Sara Porter continued to make her presence felt in her first collegiate campaign and led Defiance once again with 19 kills on the day. Danyel Lipps tallied 14 kills and Lauren Aldridge also posted double-figure kills with 12 to go with three blocks.

Two other freshmen also had big matches as Kelsey Ferguson set a new career high with 37 assists and Heather Bradshaw turned in four service aces.

Defiance (4-10, 2-0 HCAC) will begin a four-match homestand on Tuesday night when it hosts No. 14 Ohio Northern at 7:00 pm.
