LEXINGTON, Ky. – Defiance closed out its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season schedule on Saturday with a straight-set loss to Transylvania, but bounced back to edge Asbury in four sets. The win over Asbury was DC’s second in four matches and seventh of the season.

The action started on Saturday with a 30-16, 30-17, 30-22 loss to Transylvania in DC’s final regular season HCAC match of the year. Lipps posted eight kills to go with 17 digs and Sara Porter tacked on seven kills of her own. Kelsey Ferguson tossed up 24 assists.

Defiance rebounded with a 20-30, 30-27, 30-26, 30-20 win over Asbury in the second match of the day. Lauren Aldridge led the way with 15 kills, while Lipps and Porter each topped double figures and totaled 25 kills between them.

Defiance (7-20, 3-5 HCAC) will play at Bethel College on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, before closing out its regular season by hosting Indiana Tech on Nov. 1 at 7:00 pm.
