DC Volleyball drops a pair of weekend road matches

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Defiance College Volleyball team could not find victory on the road as the Jackets dropped a pair of contests over the weekend. The team lost to Depauw University 30-11, 30-27, 22-30, 30-21 on Saturday evening, then fell to Franklin College Sunday morning 30-28, 30-26, 21-30, 30-26.

In the match against Depauw, three Jackets reached double digits in kills, as Lauren Aldridge, Danyel Lipps, and Danielle Rego each had 13, 12, and 10, respectively. Brittany Cooley handed out 17 assists while Ashton Judis had 15 of her own. Corrie Farley led the Jackets in digs with 25.

Against Franklin, Lipps had a team-high 18 kills, while Aldridge chipped in with 10 kills. Cooley had 24 assists with Judis contributing 21 assists as well. Diane Bruns had a season-high 56 digs in the match.

Defiance (8-19, 2-5 HCAC) will play its final match of the regular season Tuesday evening as the Jackets head back on the road to take on HCAC rival Bluffton University at 7:00 p.m.
