Yellow Jackets edged by #10 team in the nation

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Defiance College Yellow Jackets gave the #10 Ohio Northern Polar Bears all they could handle for four sets. Unfortunately, the Jackets could not pull out the victory, as they lose 30-20, 30-22, 23-30, 30-23.

The Jackets rallied back from a 2-0 deficit in the third set with a series of intense spikes by Danielle Rego that brought the crowd to its feet, en route to a win in that set for the Yellow Jackets. However, in the fourth and final set, Ohio Northern jumped out to an early 6-1 lead that the Bears never relinquished.

Julie Steineman had a team-high 23 kills, while Jill Evans dished out 43 assists.

Defiance welcomes back its former players on Saturday as Yellow Jackets new and old play in the annual Alumni Game.
