Lady Jackets sneak by Waynesburg

--Cincinnati, Ohio—The DC Lady Jackets won their first game of the Mt. St. Joseph Volleyball Tournament, 3-2 over Waynesburg College.

Nikki Retcher and Mandy Owens led DC to the 30-22, 29-31, 24-30, 30-22, 15-11 victory with 12 kills apiece while Jill Evans had 11 kills and 23 assists. Julie Steineman had 23 digs, three solo blocks and four block assists. Owens also had one solo block and two block assists.

Defiance is now 12-4 on the year and will face Franklin College at 5:00 p.m. in the second round of the tournament.
