Women's Basketball to Host Little Dribbler Camp

DEFIANCE, Ohio –The Defiance College women's basketball team will host the Girl's Little Dribbler Basketball camp from June 23-25.

The camp is for girls ages 5-7 and will be held in the Weaner Center Gymnasium from 1-3 p.m. The camp will have four fundamental stations as the girls will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. The cost of the camp is $55

Women's Basketball to Host Pair of Summer Camps

DEFIANCE, Ohio –The Defiance College women's basketball team will host two basketball camps this summer.

DC will hold two sessions, the first being held from June 16-19 and the second from July 21-24 for girls ages seven through 17. The cost of the camp is $95 per session or $170 for both sessions with sessions being held at the Weaner Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Bird and White Earn All-HCAC Honors

DEFIANCE, Ohio –Sarah Bird and Mandy White were each named to the All-HCAC First Team, following the 2007-08 season that saw the Lady Jackets go 10-14 overall and boast the HCAC’s highest scoring offense with 73.5 points per game. DC led the conference in five statistical categories, while also ranking in the top four in five other categories.

Bird Garners HCAC Player-of-the-Week Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Defiance College’s Sarah Bird (Fayette, Ohio/Gorham-Fayette) averaged 23.5 points per game as the Jackets went 2-0 this week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The senior guard knocked down five three-pointers and pulled down four rebounds on her way to a career-high 29 points in Wednesday’s victory over Franklin College. She followed up that performance with 18 points in Defiance's 83-61 win over Rose-Hulman. She has reached double-figures in scoring in her last eight games...(read more)
