Meghann Savard named Tourney MVP as DC defeats Albright

--Lancaster, Penn.—The DC Lady Jackets won the Franklin & Marshall Tip-off Tournament with a 58-48 victory over Albright College on Sunday afternoon in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Meghann Savard was named tournament Most Valuable Player for her 20 point, eight-rebound performance against the Lions. Meta Gerding followed Savard with 16 points in 36 minutes of play.

The Lady Jackets built a 33-25 lead at the half and outscored AC 25-23 in the second half to preserve the win.

Along with Savard’s MVP honors, Gerding was named to the All-Tournament team.

DC is 2-0 on the year and will travel to Ada, Ohio on Tuesday to face Ohio Northern at 7:30 p.m.
